Linda Hankin graduated from Brock University in 1991 with an Honours BA in Visual Art. In 1999, she founded and taught at 'The School of Ideas', a fine art school and contemporary art gallery that featured Canadian and American artists.
An accomplished artist, Linda held solo exhibits and participated in group shows in Canada and the United States in prestigious galleries including Temiskaming Art Gallery, Rodman Hall, Art Gallery of Burlington, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, and the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
Linda has taught in schools, art centres and studios such as the Art Gallery of Burlington, The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, Rodman Hall, and the Catholic School Board. Among the subjects she teaches are plein-air painting, drawing for beginners and advanced students, oil paintings at all levels, acrylic painting, watercolour painting, mixed media, life drawing, mono prints, encaustics, and found objects.
Linda was an artist in residence in Spain, Wales, France, and Newfoundland. With each site she visits, she considers it a 'good time' to immerse in the weather, subjects, history, culture and at the same time connecting with what is happening in one's own life. Returning from Newfoundland, where the landscape was wide, made her feel like a child again, ready to explore and paint.
