Contemplation in Nature: Sherry Park

In Contemplation in Nature, artist Sherry Park presents a series of landscape paintings inspired by her observations of the natural world. Primarily a figurative painter, Park has recently explored landscape as a way to express her sense of connection with nature. Her painting process is calm and meditative, transforming moments of observation into thoughtful and evocative works on canvas.

Artist Statement

I am Korean born artist growing up in Toronto area. I studied at the Ontario College of Art (OCADU) majoring in fine art department (drawing and painting). In my last year I studied off-campus in Florence, Italy. I am primarily figurative painter but in recent years have explored the landscape in my work.

This series of paintings are my observation of nature around me and my sense of connection. I draw inspiration from the landscapes. I enjoy the process of painting, from observation to putting on canvas, it is calming and meditative.
