Tina paints intuitively, making art that is alive with movement, colour, and expression. She has enjoyed sketching throughout her life, but after a career in teaching, yearned for more colour and a much looser approach to art. Painting quickly, en plein air, was an invaluable start, but after seeing an exhibit about a 1950’s Japanese art movement, Tina was inspired to be more experimental, playful, and spontaneous with her process. "When I paint, I look inward – memories mingling with imagination - and then outward, at the colours and shapes spilling onto the canvas. It is a feeling of profound gratification to see what is inside me emerge as a painting, in the creation that unfolds before me. My paintings, emergent and evanescent, reflect the love and joy I feel for this vast and beautiful world. I welcome you to share them with me."
