Programs - WS9b - Aboriginal Canadian Art History

The Aboriginal peoples of Canada have existed for thousands of years. The works and styles they have created are varied and complex, reflecting the culture, climate and geography. This lecture series will explore the development of Indigenous Art in Canada and will be divided by three distinct periods with a brief overview of the Prehistoric and historic or ” contact “works in the first lecture (WS9b).
The second lecture (WS9c) will focus on more contemporary works being created by aboriginal artists in the 20th and 21st centuries.
