Programs - YS19-1 - July 8-12 Summer Art Camp 2019 - Ages 5-12

Art projects will include drawings, paintings, sculptures and more, using quality art supplies (included in cost) and tools in our studio. Suitable for ages 5 - 12.

Printmaking Past & Present project will give students the opportunity to tour Mackenzie Printery and learn about 500 years of printing technology including linotype and heritage presses, as well as a hands-on opportunity to print your own bookmark & keepsake. Participants will then visit RiverBrink Art Museum to see historical art prints on display in the gallery followed by a lesson and hands-on contemporary printmaking workshop in studio at the Niagara Pumphouse.

Lessons will be supported by visual examples from art history or artworks in our gallery.
Campers will spend some time outside with plein-air painting and games. You will be proud to display their finished masterpieces in your home.

Please provide 2 nut-free snacks, lunch, water bottle, sunscreen & a hat.

Full-day camps include Printmaking Past & Present field trip thanks to the Niagara Region.

Hannah Dobbie

Hannah Dobbie is an Art History student at Brock University. She is passionate about the arts, visual culture, and design and is pursuing a career at the intersection of these fields. As the Pumphouse’s Summer Student Art Instructor, Hannah taught the 2018 Summer Art Camps and the Winter and Spring children’s class sessions. She will be returning to teach this year’s summer children’s programs.
