Overview

Expand your painting skills into the world of oil paints! Using a basic paint palette, students will put colour theory and new techniques to work in a series of oil paintings. In this course, students will be introduced to various materials and techniques in oil painting, including the difference between oil and alkyd paint, natural hair and synthetic brushes, rigid supports and stretched canvases.

Pre-requisites: Basic drawing; previous painting experience (acrylic, watercolour, etc.)

In-Studio Capacity will be limited to 8 participants.

Linda Hankin graduated from Brock University in 1991 with an Honours BA in Visual Art. In 1999, she founded and taught at 'The School of Ideas', a fine art school and contemporary art gallery that featured Canadian and American artists.
