Overview
This project introduces students to creating a modern, simplified interpretation of the human face or form. The focus is on bold shapes, clean planes, and expressive design rather than realistic anatomy, making the project approachable while still visually striking. Students will work from sample models that demonstrate how to build a sculptural form with smooth surfaces, carved lines, and stylized features.
Please note the November 20th date will be a glaze class where students will have the opportunity to glaze and finish their work.

Instructor - Marzi Alimo
Marzi is a visual artist, sculptor, and painter whose practice centers on surrealist ceramic sculpture. Her artistic journey began before earning a degree in Craft and Design from the Art University of Kashan, Iran, where she initially focused on painting. Over time, she explored crafts, illustration, and jewelry design before discovering her true passion for sculpting.
