Participate in creating bright and bold contemporary seasonal landscapes using creative brushstrokes and unusual techniques
My preferred acrylic paint colours are listed below. Please don't feel obliged to get them all! I like to use Golden and/or Liquitex brand. Tri Art also works well.
I tend to use heavy body paints as colours are sharper and richer
Bring whatever colours you have - the art of substitution is a lesson in itself!
Titanium white
Primary magenta
cadmium yellow (medium or dark)
Cadmium red (medium)
Burnt sienna and yellow ochre
Ultramarine blue
Teal
SUGGESTIONS FOR PAINTING SURFACES.
If you have other similar sizes already at home feel free to use them.
Before the class please lay on a semi transparent underpainting of burnt sienna/yellow ochre combined or deep crimson or dark pink on your white canvas.
Sizes:
One 12" x 12"
One 12" x 16"
One 20" x 20" or a bit larger
BRUSHES
2-3 Flat tipped synthetic angled brushes ranging from ½" - 2"
I use De Serres Zen brushes. I find them quite good as well as economical!
DRAWING TOOLS
Any light coloured chalk
OTHER ITEMS
Palette for acrylics (disposable pad is easier)
J cloths, ruler,
¾" - 1" Green or masking tape if using paper.
Table or floor easel
2 empty yogurt tubs for water
