Still Life Study in Acrylic

Explore the art of still life painting through a focused, one-day acrylic workshop. Working from a curated arrangement and a limited colour palette, participants will explore composition, colour mixing, light, and form while creating their own still life study.

Overview

Still Life Study in Acrylic invites participants to slow down and take a closer look at the objects around them. Over the course of a day, students will work from a still life arrangement and use a limited palette to explore colour relationships, value, composition, and the effects of light and shadow. Through guided instruction and hands-on painting, participants will develop a thoughtful approach to building a still life while discovering how much can be achieved with a small selection of colours. This class is ideal for artists looking to strengthen their acrylic painting skills while enjoying the focused process of observation and experimentation.

Pre-requisites: experience with acrylic paint.  

Materials: all materials are included in registration
