Studio 101

Studio 101 is designed for artists who have some previous experience with drawing , painting and are ready to build on those skills in a supportive studio environment.

Overview

Through guided projects in drawing, painting, and sculpture, participants will strengthen their understanding of the fundamental visual language of art, including observation, composition, value, colour, form, and spatial relationships.

Examples from both historical and contemporary artists will provide inspiration and context, while weekly studio exercises encourage exploration, problem solving, and the development of personal creative confidence. The course concludes with an independent artwork that brings together the skills learned throughout the four weeks.

Pre-requisites: Participants should be comfortable with basic art materials and techniques and be prepared to explore and discover with instructor guidance.
