Delving Into Fall. Create a scene of fall colours reflecting unto a lake while applying principles of contrast, temperature and elements of line and edge. For wet into wet, water pigment ratio is important to control edges which students will practice. This is a medium with a longer learning curve but the rewards are greater in the end.

Materials List

140 lb watercolour paper at least 25% cotton, close to 9 x 12 or 8 x 10.

A piece of watercolour scrap paper for testing colours.

 Brushes in a variety of large, medium and small rounds.

Pencil

Eraser

Ruler

Paper towel

Masking tape and board for taping watercolour paper unto. 

Your palette with warms, cools and earth tones such as cad yellow, raw sienna, burnt sienna, cad orange or mix your own orange with cad red, sepia, paynes grey or neutral tin, cobalt blue and ultramarine, sap green and a dark green such as perylene green. A fine white gel pen for tree trunks or a tiny brush for applying acrylic or gouache for tree trunks.
