FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre Receives $143,500 Grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation for Infrastructure Improvements
Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON: The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre in Niagara-on-the-Lake is excited to announce that it was awarded a one-year, $143,500 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to improve its infrastructure and interior fittings in order to offer enhanced art programs. Along with a new HVAC system, the grant will allow the Centre to make accessibility and practical aesthetic upgrades to ensure people of all ages and physical condition can participate in art classes, lectures and special events hosted in an enhanced facility.
“I’m thrilled to see Niagara Pumphouse Art Centre receive this important Trillium funding to enhance their already magnificent space in Niagara-on-the-Lake,” said Wayne Gates, MPP for Niagara Falls. “I’ve had the privilege to attend numerous events at the Centre. Enhancing their accessibility and ensuring more people can continue to experience art and community in this wonderful space is welcoming news.”
The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is dedicated to enriching people’s lives through the arts. The grant from OTF will enable the implementation and expansion of two specific community offerings aimed at vulnerable demographic groups, specifically disadvantaged youth and elderly residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake. These initiatives will be made possible with the support of the Ontario Trillium Fund, and other generous sponsors and donations, by providing appropriate spaces for the community to appreciate arts, culture and heritage.
Renovations have already begun, and the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is now closed until the end of March 2020. For information about the location for art classes during this time, please visit niagarapumphouse.ca.
