John David Anderson

I use paint tonally applied with rich colour and an impressionist character. The subject does not drive the composition for me but the light does."

Painting and breathing are pretty much the same for me. I have to be at the easel indoors or outdoors, by myself, or with a group to feel really alive.

I love sharing, coaching, assisting and talking about painting as much as I can fit into my life as an artist. My emphasis in classes is painting with an impressionist's character in oils, or acrylics with the focus on aspects of seeing as a painter, interpreting the light story, building successful compositions and understand the many dimensions of colour.

For over 25 years, I have been painting professionally, running workshops/classes with Haliburton School of Art and Design, Blue Mountain School of Landscape, Pelham Art Group, Barrie Art Club, Quest Art Club to name a few. As well, hosting many classes, workshops, demonstrations, presentations with private groups and galleries.

I also run European paintings trips to France, Italy and other destinations, of course pre-Covid 19.
