The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is pleased to announce the return of its annual, juried, original art show and sale.
July 30 & 31, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. FREE Admission.
Rain or shine the show goes on!
Plenty to see and do both outdoors, on the picturesque grounds along the river’s edge and inside the Niagara Pumphouse heritage brick building. Event includes the show and sale of a variety of original artwork, outdoor Family Friendly art activity and a silent auction benefiting the Niagara Pumphouse programs.
The Niagara Pumphouse is excited to present forty professional artists, from across Ontario, exhibiting a wide range of original, hand-crafted works. We are pleased to welcome back some returning artists as well as looking forward to showcasing some brand new artists. This year’s Art by the Lighthouse will feature paintings, photography, sculpture, jewellery and more! Click Here for a list of participating artists and samples of their work.
A silent auction includes original artworks, theatre tickets, golf passes, gift baskets and various gift certificates is also planned. Proceeds from the silent auction will directly benefit Niagara Pumphouse art programs and the Ian Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund.
While visiting Art by the Lighthouse, we encourage you to participate in our outdoor Family Friendly Art Activity. Children of all ages are invited to come and make their very own clay sculpture. Get your hands messy shaping and adding texture in clay and then take home your hand-made creation.
Pumphouse Members’ are invited to drop by our Members’ Lounge during show hours to relax and mingle while listening to music, and enjoying free coffee, tea, wine, and treats. The Lounge will be located by the gazebo, overlooking the river and is one of the many new members’ benefits being created this year. If you aren’t a member of the Pumphouse yet, you can stop by the front desk and purchase an individual membership for only $40 or a family membership for $55.
Visitors will also be able to tour the heritage brick building. It is the oldest surviving pump house in the Niagara Region. The abandoned water pumping station (circa 1891) was purchased by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and through community effort and fundraising the building was restored and converted to become the unique Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre. The original pump, which once supplied water to the Town of Niagara on the Lake, remains on display in a garden.
