Judith Bowden is a freelance set and costume designer regularly working at the Shaw festival for the pst 25 seasons and around the country and abroad at many theatres including The Stratford Festival, Canadian Stage, NAC, Theatre Calgary, Arena Stage and RSC.
She has been doing her own textile work focusing on natural dyes, tannins, and rust. This work explores ways of mapping place and memory by recording seasons and locations with direct prints of the plants found and hand stitching as a reflective process on the printed fabrics. Each piece is a unique map of time and place.
