I have always felt most at peace in nature. My previous work as a botanist and environmental educator, coupled with my passion for growing wild things, inspired me many years ago to create garden bedson my rural property that have the same wild abandon as the meadows or forests I love to roam. Even though my gardens are much smaller versions of the larger natural areas I love, I try to fill them with wildflowers and trees unique to this region.Over time, I have come to know these plants well, along with many others that grow in my herb garden, veggie garden and even my all natural lawn. I found that many plants that surround me have beneficial attributes that go far beyond a pretty flower. Even the dandelions are no longer just "weeds" to me!
When my children were born, I spent countless hours learning about the synthetic ingredients in many of the products we put on our skin and endeavoredto reduce these chemicals in our lives. I am continuously educating myself in more detail about herbalism and the proper use of essential oils through certified programs. I slowly began creating and testing simple, natural skincare products for my family and friends. Eventually, Niagara Homespun Botanicals was born.
My goal is to continue to create synthetic-free products with as many of the beneficial herbs and plants that I grow myself or that grow naturally around my property. There is more value than first meets the eye in the plants that surround us and gifts of nature are abound.Thank you for your support!
