First Impressions by Julia Kane
The artwork was the selected cover for the Stay NOTL and Tourism NOTL 2025-2026 map. The piece was chosen from entries to an annual map cover design competition open to Niagara artists, hosted by the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre.

The piece captures a springtime view upon entering Niagara-on-the-Lake's 'old town' from the south, where the iconic Cenotaph along with the vibrant greenery and flowers welcome visitors to the main street. Through this work, the artist hopes to evoke joy and a fresh appreciation for the town's beauty.

Our Precious World by Lynne Gaetz
This piece explores the concept of duality and integration. The divine twins—symbolizing a single soul split in two—gaze in awe at the world around them. Their wonder invites us to reflect on our own journey toward wholeness and unity. Rich with surreal and mystical elements, the work blends oil with gold and silver leaf, layering meaning and texture. The result is both intimate and expansive, reminding us of the fragility and beauty of the world we share.

Our Precious World is part of the group exhibition Doors of Perception at the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, on view from October 1 to 26, with an opening reception on October 5.
