Artist's Statement
I have a long history working with oils. More recently, I've integrated mixed media into my practice. The collage sections are filled with my own history as an artist. I often incorporate photos I have taken or images of my previous paintings and drawings. I also insert words and phrases that reflect the mood of the piece.

My works have surreal and mystical elements, featuring people with horns, antlers, wings, and tall hats. Or I may paint dreamscapes with turbulent abstracted waters. Ideas come to me at night, lying between sleep and wakefulness, when I imagine stormy textured waters and skylines with gold and silver lights, or winged people deep in thought.

I strive to create an overall mood, emotion or underlying tension in each piece. I invite you to reflect on the work and come to your own conclusions about its meaning.
