Overview

In 1900, America was still an artistic colony of Europe. It was during the early 20th century that American artists began to explore and experiment with their own cultural expression. This lecture will look at the Ash Can School, Romantic Realists, Abstract Expressionists and Pop Art as the emerging voice of American Culture.
