Overview

The Medieval World – Age of Pilgrimages, Crusades, Chivalry

A study of Romanesque and Gothic periods. Students will explore the developments from darkness and solemnity of the monastic Romanesque to the integration of ancient philosophy with the new Christian theology and it's emphasis on light. This will include technological developments in architecture, changes and developments in sculpture and the new painting - tapestry, stained glass.
