Create beautiful soft pastel landscapes with Maria Iva!
Saturday May 24, 2025 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Join artist Maria Iva (PAC) for an engaging one-day workshop exploring dry pastels, celebrated for their vibrant colours and permanence. Contrary to popular belief, pastels are forgiving and easy to handle, making them a joy to work with. Maria will guide participants through simple steps to create a successful painting, including an underpainting technique essential for adding depth and texture. Participants will complete a painting alongside the instructor with personalized guidance throughout the day. A basic understanding of composition and values, along with some experience in any painting medium, is recommended for this enriching and creative workshop.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have fully completed one pastel painting, will have learned all stages of the soft pastel blending process, and will have learned how to handle soft pastels (strokes, blending, corrections, etc.).
