Tara's captivating exploration of the interplay between the abstract and the representational, inviting viewers to reflect on the transience of life and find solace in the beauty of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Overview
The public is warmly welcomed to the opening reception on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to personally engage with the artist, savour the artwork, and connect with fellow art appreciators over refreshments and nibbles. Tara will offer remarks around 2:30 pm. This event is generously supported by Château des Charmes, providing an assortment of fine wines.
Artist Statement
This new body of work emerges from sketches inspired by the history, life, and nature of Niagara-on-the-Lake. It emphasizes the beauty of peace in a place that was once the site of historical war. I depict peace in vibrant colors that find solace in mesmerizing shapes and resolve the uncertainty between borders and lines.
These paintings evolved from processing analog and digital collages and translating pixels into pigment. An interplay between abstract and depicted imagery materializes the freedom and possibilities of art that parallel one's experience, evoking subjective responses and encouraging new ways envisioning one's surrounding.
