Enjoy a thoughtful discussion of Emily Urquhart's book "The Age of Creativity" with book reviewer Linda Steinman.
Wednesday Oct 8, 2025 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
The backstory of an artist provides valuable insight into their creations. In this book, the central characters are Canadian artist Tony Urquhart and writer Emily Urquhart, Tony's daughter. Linda will facilitate the book session using slides and prompts for discussion. We will explore the themes of living as/with an artist; father/daughter relationships; and research on changes in artist' creative output as they age.
According to Emily Urquhart's research, creativity is not lost but often takes a fresh turn across the lifespan. She traces this evolution via not only her father, but also other well-known artists. You would benefit from having read this book in advance of the gathering, but it is not essential. Please join us for this one and a half hour program.
