Overview
Participants will learn about the history of illuminated manuscripts, including famous works such as the Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels, and discover how artists transformed written words into detailed works of art.
After a brief look at historical techniques and materials, participants will design and create their own illuminated letter or short phrase. The workshop focuses on composition, pattern, colour, and decorative borders, guiding students step by step toward a finished piece.
This class combines history, creativity, and hands-on studio practice in a supportive and engaging environment.

Materials: all materials are included at a value of $25 with registration

Paul Eppler is a true Niagara native, calling Niagara-on-the-Lake home most of his life. He credits his love for the art, theater and music from his primary and secondary education in Niagara District.
