Julie Ponesse is a full-time Philosophy Professor and a part-time artist living and working in London, Ontario. After receiving a PhD in Philosophy, and teaching for a number of years at universities in Canada and the U.S., in the fall of 2013 she decided to renew her love of painting by painting small and as often as she can. After so many years in doing such cerebral work, she is loving the chance to work with her hands and see the results of translating what she sees around her into paint on a canvas. She is especially intrigued by the play of light and shadow on the same colour and object, and hopes to explore this dynamic further as she continues to paint. Her work is currently on display at Mikcreations Gallery in Virgil, Ontario.
