NHFS: Pen and Ink Essentials

This hands-on class is designed for beginners curious about this versatile and expressive medium of pen and ink drawing.

Overview

Participants will explore the fundamentals of pen and ink drawing, including line quality, mark-making, shading techniques, and basic composition.
Through guided exercises and creative experimentation, students will learn how to build depth, texture, and contrast using a range of tools and approaches. The class will also introduce techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling, helping participants develop control and confidence in their work.
