Let's learn to paint shapes in bold colour using loose styled yet expressive brushstrokes. Capture the images of our quintessentially Canadian fall and winter landscapes right onto your canvas. You will learn the art of interpreting the world around us in a step by step method using various techniques and tools as you develop your artistic skills in this exciting journey of bold colours and the play of light. Learn to combine warm and cool colours with splashes of complimentary hues to create your very own impressionistic masterpieces.
Pre-requisites: previous experience painting with acrylic.

Materials: Golden/Liquitex brand heavy body paint
-titanium white
-primary magenta or crimson
-cadmium yellow medium or deep
-indian yellow
-yellow ochre
-cadmium red
-ultramarine blue
-payne's grey
-teal
-burnt sienna or any deep brown
Surfaces:
*Please prep your surface with a layer of semi transparent warm toned acrylic colour ahead of the class. Burnt sienna, yellow ochre, or dull crimson. Any canvas close to these sizes is fine.
-12 x 12" canvas
-12 x 30" canvas
-20 x 20" canvas
Brushes
–3 flat tipped synthetic angled brushes ranging from 1.5" - 2"
-a couple plastic palette knives (narrow and long, as well as short)
Drawing Tools
-soft HB pencil
-sharpener and kneaded eraser
-light coloured chalk for drawing
Additional items
-palette for acrylics (disposable pad is easier, do not tear off the page)
-j cloths
-ruler
My early art training has been at the Ottawa School of Art and at Algonquin University, Ottawa. I paint in bright and bold contemporary impressionism. As an award winning artist I'm immersed year round in my world of exhibiting my work in multiple galleries, private art commissions and teaching.
