Overview

Early Renaissance - The Convergence of Reason and Faith (Part 1 - June 21st, 2:00 - 4:00 PM): This lecture will look briefly at the works of the developing Early Renaissance in architecture, sculpture and painting. We will look at the change in approach from the emotional and symbolic Medieval world to the new artists exploration of the concepts of humanism as it integrated into the works of Faith.

Late Renaissance - The Order and Harmony of Antiquity Re-birthed (Part 2 - June 28th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM): This lecture will look at the development of aesthetic perfection expressed in architecture, sculpture and painting. In this unit we will see how the artists of the time take the lessons of their predecessors and further develop the classical ideals of perfection and beauty.
