Programs - YS-20-2 - Afternoon Zoom Art Program - Draw! - July 13-17, 2020 - Ages 9-13

UPDATE: The last day to register for this course is THURSDAY, JULY 9.

Get excited about our online art classes! Students will engage in a course that includes between three and six guided projects that are curated by theme and delivered during our three live Zoom sessions. A supplementary package containing art history lessons, activities, and creative prompts that can be done on the student’s own time will accompany the Zoom sessions.

This week, we will be exploring drawing. We will look at examples from art history to develop masterpieces of our own!

Students can expect a fun and engaging online learning experience supported by group discussions and offline activities.

In each Zoom session, instructor Hannah Dobbie will demonstrate step-by-step projects with periodic progress checks and question and answer periods. Students will be muted for the lessons, but the last fifteen minutes of each session will be dedicated to questions. There will also be an opportunity during the last session of each week for students to share their work with their classmates.

When students register for a week of Zoom classes, they will receive a supplementary package that includes information about drawing techniques, an art history lesson, biographies of the featured artists, additional projects, activities and prompts.

Parents will not be required to stay online for the duration of each Zoom session. The projects will be designed to engage students independently, without any need for physical assistance. With that said, it will up to the discretion of the parent to determine if direct supervision is required.

For families enrolling multiple children, you only have to register once! You will require enough supplies for all students to complete the projects successfully, but only one spot in the Zoom class is needed.

Required Supplies:
Art supplies (Materials list to follow)
Electronic device
Zoom account (this is FREE, but must be acquired ahead of the class)
