Overview

Learn traditional tole painting techniques including vine and floral designs associated with this timeless form of folk art. In your first session you will be introduced to the history of tole painting, basic brushstrokes and practice dual value brush loading control and mixing colours. In the second session, each participant will apply their tole painting technique to decorate a sketchbook cover. If time permits, participants can explore these techniques on traditional materials such as wood and tin.

Pre-requisites: Basic painting skills, mixing and brush control.
